Step away from busy schedules and reconnect together in the heart of Paradise Valley in Squamish BC.
This August, families are invited to experience a one-of-a-kind overnight family camp at Cheakamus Centre. Spend three days exploring forests, paddling canoes, learning together, creating together, and sharing unforgettable experiences surrounded by mountains, rivers, and old-growth forest.
Designed for families of all ages and sizes, Family Camp combines outdoor adventure, Indigenous cultural learning, and relaxed camp-style fun in a welcoming community atmosphere. Whether your family loves active adventures, creative activities, quiet nature walks, or evenings around the campfire, there will be something for everyone.
Your Family Camp Experience Includes
Throughout the three days, families will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of guided activities designed to foster connection, adventure, creativity, and learning together in nature.
Activity highlights may include:
- Indigenous cultural activities in our teaching Coast Salish Longhouse
- Canoeing
- Archery
- Survival skills
- Orienteering
- Shelter building
- Farm visits
- Hikes and nature exploration
- Challenge course activities
- Field games
- Basketball court access
- Pond study
Families will also have free time to relax, explore the property, connect with other families, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Cheakamus River Valley.
Whether learning new skills, exploring the outdoors, or simply spending quality time together, Family Camp is designed to create meaningful shared experiences and lasting memories for all ages.
Accommodation & Registration Fees
Cabin Accommodation
Families will stay in rustic, heated cabin-style accommodations nestled among the forests and mountains of the beautiful Cheakamus River Valley.
Each half-cabin accommodates up to 8 guests and features bunk bed accommodations, its own and washroom facilities. Families may reserve a half-cabin for their own use or choose to share the space with friends.
All accommodations are within easy walking distance of meals, activities, and gathering spaces, making it easy to enjoy everything Family Camp has to offer.
Registration Fees
Family Camp registration includes two nights of accommodation, all meals and snacks, and access to guided activities and experiences throughout the weekend.
Fees:
- Half-cabin rental: $400 (accommodates up to 8 guests)
- Adults (14+): $250 per person
- Children and youth (ages 4-13): $200 per person
- Children 3 and under: Free
Transportation to and from Cheakamus Centre is not included. Travel directions and complimentary parking will be provided for guests arriving by vehicle.

Located in Paradise Valley near Squamish, BC, Cheakamus Centre sits on 165 hectares of ecological preserve lands on the unceded traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Nation.
Cheakamus Centre is known for immersive outdoor and place-based learning experiences that foster connection to land, community, and the natural world.
