- What is the cost?
- Half-cabin rental: $400 (accommodates up to 8 guests)
- Adults (14+): $250 per person
- Children and youth (ages 4-13): $200 per person
- Children 3 and under: Free
- What are the camp dates and times?
Family Camp runs from August 24 to August 26, 2026.
Arrival time: 9:00am-10:00am
Departure time: 3:30pm-4:30pm
Please arrive within the designated drop-off window to ensure a smooth start to the day.
- Where is the camp located?
Cheakamus Teen Camp takes place at Cheakamus Centre in Paradise Valley, just north of Squamish. We are located at 1600 Paradise Valley road. Follow signs to the ELC (Environmental Learning Centre).
- Who is Family Camp for?
Family Camp is designed for families of all ages and sizes!

- What activities will campers participate in?
Campers will enjoy a mix of outdoor and cultural activities, including:
- Indigenous cultural activities in our teaching Coast Salish Longhouse
- Canoeing
- Archery
- Survival skills
- Orienteering
- Shelter building
- Farm visits
- Hikes
- Challenge course activities
- Field games
- Basketball court access
- Pond study
Activities are led by experienced facilitators and designed to promote personal growth, teamwork, and connection to the land.
- Do I need outdoor experience?
Not at all. Activities are designed for beginners and experienced outdoor enthusiasts alike.
- Can I choose which activities I participate in?
Yes. Families will have opportunities to choose from a variety of activities throughout the camp. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
- What is the daily schedule like?
Family Camp includes a mix of guided activities, shared meals, and free time. A detailed schedule will be provided prior to arrival.
- Will there be free time?
Yes. While there will be plenty of guided activities, families will also have opportunities to relax, explore the property, and enjoy time together at their own pace.
- Who are the camp staff?
Our staff includes experienced outdoor educators, youth program leaders, and Cheakamus Centre trainers. All staff undergo background checks and are certified in first aid. We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to ensure safety and connection.
- What should we bring?
A detailed packing list will be provided after registration. In general, families should plan to bring comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy footwear, rain gear, sleeping bag and pillow, and personal items.
- What are the cabins like?
Families stay in rustic, heated cabin accommodations with bunk beds and private washroom facilities for each half-cabin.
- Can we share a cabin with friends?
Absolutely. Families are welcome to reserve a half-cabin for themselves or share with another family or group of friends.
We will not assign unrelated families to share accommodations. Any cabin-sharing arrangements must be organized by the families themselves at the time of registration.
- Are meals included?
Yes. All meals and snacks from arrival through departure are included in your registration.
- Can dietary needs be accommodated?
Yes. Our kitchen team can accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies with advance notice. You will be able to submit your dietary needs in advance.
- Is alcohol permitted?
Family Camp is designed as a family-focused, alcohol-free event.
- What kinds of meals will be served?
Meals at Cheakamus Centre are prepared by our culinary team using fresh, wholesome ingredients and are designed to appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes.
Guests can expect hearty breakfasts, nutritious lunches, satisfying dinners, and snacks throughout the camp. Menus often feature a mix of family favourites and seasonal dishes.
- Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
There is cell service throughout the property. Wi-Fi is not available. Family Camp is a wonderful opportunity to unplug and connect with nature and one another.
- Are pets allowed?
As an environmental preservation site, unfortunately pets are not permitted at Family Camp. Service animals are an exception.
- Is Family Camp accessible?
Yes. We strive to make Family Camp welcoming and accessible for all families. Accessible accommodations are available, including cabins designed with accessibility in mind.
Many of our main gathering spaces, program areas, and trails are designed to be accessible, including several flat, wide pathways that allow guests to comfortably explore the property and participate in activities.

- What safety measures are in place?
The safety and well-being of our guests is our top priority. All Family Camp activities are led by trained Cheakamus Centre staff who follow established safety procedures and risk management protocols. Cheakamus Centre staff are trained in first aid and emergency response, and emergency procedures are in place for all programs.
Families are responsible for the supervision and care of their children outside of scheduled activities and are expected to participate together throughout the camp experience.

Family Camp combines outdoor adventure, Indigenous cultural learning, and meaningful family connection in one of British Columbia's most beautiful natural settings.
